Sam Faddis: Volt Typhoon: China is Preparing a Cyber Attack
Charles “Sam” Faddis, a retired career CIA operations officer, the author of several books including Beyond Repair: The Decline and Fall of the CIA, and a member of the Committee on the Present Danger: China, spoke at our World War III, World War Xi conference in Atlanta on May 15th. He spoke in the clearest terms of the urgency and immediacy of the threat posted to us by the Chinese Communist Party.
His briefing began with a description of Volt Typhoon, the U.S. code name of a Chinese cyber operation designed to infiltrate and capture our entire cyber network, which of course controls our electric grid, our water, computer, communications systems and any other like system, , with the explicit purpose of taking them down, destroying those systems and keeping them down. The timeline for this, as FBI Director Christopher Wray has noted, is to accomplish this by, at the latest, 2027.
