Steve Bannon: Target of Lawfare – update

In Unrestricted Warfare, WarRoom, Weaponized Judiciary

The following are a few updates related to Steve Bannon’s potential surrender July 1.

Steve Bannon’s Interview with Tucker Carlson

Last week, Tucker Carlson had a conversation with Steve Bannon about his being told to report to serve his prison sentence on July 1.

Steve describes the outrageousness of the entire situation, from the formation of the J6 Committee through to the unprecedented absurdity – the political Gulaging – of sentencing men to prison for misdemeanors of this type (just consider Peter Navarro, currently in federal prison for the same charge), whereas numerous Democrats have done similar and worse with no consequences whatsoever.

In addition to his outlining the flaws in the case and the sentence, his courage and determination in the face of this “prosecution and persecution” are inspirational as well as a real punch in the gut as to where we are vis-a-vis law and order in this country.

We write and speak frequently about the sacrifices men and women have made in service of building and defending this nation; clearly, sacrifices are continuing to be required, and some are making those sacrifices.

Update on efforts related to the January 6 Committee

As we had written last week, Rep. Thomas Massie had proposed that Congress move to officially repudiate the entire January 6 Committee and rescind the subpeonas that are at the root of the Contempt of Congress convictions of Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, who has been serving time in a federal prison for the misdemeanor charge.

From WND:

The Gateway Pundit reported yesterday that some two dozen members are sponsoring a resolution that would designate the committee and its work illegitimate and cancel the subpoenas it issued during its time in the spotlight.  Read the WND article here.

The Gateway Pundit report:

GOP Reps. Introduce Resolution Without Senate Approval to Nullify Subpoenas for Bannon, Navarro, Scavino, and Meadows – Declare January 6th Committee Illegitimate

From the Report:

Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Eric Burlison (R-MO) have introduced a resolution aimed at rescinding the congressional subpoenas issued to Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro. This proposal also seeks to officially repudiate the actions of the January 6 committee, which Massie and other Republicans have labeled as wholly illegitimate… “The illegitimately constructed and biased January 6th Committee must be held accountable for its pursuit of political opponents,” Rep. Biggs wrote on X.  Read the full report here.

In reading their position, as well as Steve and Tucker’s putting these convictions and sentencings in context, one can only be horrified at the extent of the perversions of our legal system that the Left will go to to interfere in the November election as well as to silence the dominant dissenting voices against them. The Stalinesque nature of all this, the craven persecution without even a whisper of legitimacy or shame continues to be breathtaking.

Whether one “likes” Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, Donald Trump, or not, is immaterial. The brazen corruption for political purposes, the weaponizing of our justice system, indeed the perversion of the process of the committee in our House of Representatives should alarm everyone.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, as Edmund Burke is cited as saying, is that good men to do nothing. Evil is eating away at our primary institutions, and we hope that good men, and women, are doing all possible to re-establish justice in this great nation.

Another Avenue: Appealing to the Supreme Court

On June 21st an emergency appeal had been filed with the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold what the judge had originally indicated at Steven Bannon’s sentencing in October of 22: that Steve could remain free until all appeals had been exhausted.

Given the timing of the remand to prison – July 1, for four months ending 4 days before the purported last day of the 2024 election – and the obviousness of the election interference, as well as the very question of the legitimacy of the Committee and the subpoenas in the first place, such a request is not unreasonable.

From the Epoch Times article quoting the motion: “If Mr. Bannon is denied release, he will be forced to serve his prison sentence before this Court has a chance to consider a petition for a writ of certiorari, given the Court’s upcoming summer recess,” lawyers for Mr. Bannon said in the emergency motion.  Read the rest of the Epoch Times article here.

The appeal seems to hinge on the “willfulness” of his non-compliance with the subpoena, and the relevance of that determination.

As we watch this situation unfold, of course we are awaiting the sentencing of Donald Trump on July 11th.

The means of stealing an election are varied and diverse. The suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 was only one of countess means of “influencing” the election. Of course, COVID was another. And here we are, with the judiciary, one of the foundational elements of this nation, being perverted in service of election interference.

We’re standing by, and of course, We Stand with Steve Bannon.
